Questions (FAQ)
Does Smart Floss Mint remove more plaque?
Does Smart Floss Mint remove more plaque?
Smart Floss Mint uses the same patented expanding fiber as our original Smart Floss—which research shows removes up to 55% more plaque than leading floss brands, and up to 70% more than not flossing at all. So you get the proven clean you trust, with a fresh minty twist.
Is Smart Floss Mint packaging Eco-Friendly?
Is Smart Floss Mint packaging Eco-Friendly?
Yes, at DrTung’s, we prioritize the health of our customers and the planet by using eco-friendly packaging, including biodegradable and compostable materials.
Are your products Eco-Friendly?
Are your products Eco-Friendly?
Yes, we strive to make the most sustainable and environmentally friendly products possible. Here’s what that looks like:
Wax: To ensure comfortable flossing and to keep the fibers performing effectively, we use a blend of vegetable wax and cocoa butter. To this, we add our organic mint essential oils. We do not use petrochemical waxes or artificial flavors. No forever chemicals, ever.
Floss material: Like many flosses, Smart Floss Mint is made of polyester fibers. Unlike other flosses, Smart Floss Mint is made in a proprietary, patented process that gives a softer, expanded effect while flossing. It is designed to remove up to 55% more plaque than traditional brands.
How do you use Smart Floss Mint?
How do you use Smart Floss Mint?
- Wrap 18" (45cm) of floss around fingers & draw tight.
- Tug and release. The floss expands!
- Slide floss between teeth, curve it around the tooth and clean between tooth and gum with gentle up and down motion.
- Repeat using a clean section between each tooth.
Do your products contain potentially toxic PTFE or PFAS chemicals?
Do your products contain potentially toxic PTFE or PFAS chemicals?
Smart Floss Mint is not made from PTFE—the floss material implicated by USA Today as being potentially toxic—nor is it intentionally treated with PFOAS, PFAS, PFOS, APFO and/or fluorinated surfactants. Multiple research tests show that the amount of organic fluorine in our floss (said to reflect PFAS) is below the detectable range. PTFE material, although used widely for floss because it slides up and down easily between teeth, is also the worst-performing floss as far as plaque removal goes. (See our study comparing Smart Floss to Glide and other flosses).
